About Me:

I'm Liz. I'm 21. My life revolves around my cats, my friends, my family, and the Internet. I only have a job to pay my bills, it's nothing I particularly enjoy. I'm young and I have a lot of time left - or so I'm told.

My favorite band of all time is the Misfits, but I was raised on Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Want to know how I got so musical? Ask my sister, she left a set of 6 Elvis tapes in my headboard when I was 9, and it was all over from there. I'm the offspring of a set of United States Postal Service employees, half of which was a local race car driver for the brunt of my childhood. I grew up a few blocks away from Green Bay's illustrious Lambeau Field. I've gone through a few different things in my life that have made me stronger for living them, but I don't dictate my life by said things - let me just say that social anxiety disorder is a bitch, and my long term memory is still recovering from psychiatric medication I was on for many of my teenage years. My mother was convinced I was going to commit suicide at age 16.

I'm currently a student at Milwaukee Area Technical College's online Liberal Arts program, and have been writing and editing freelance for several years. When I'm asked why I decided to go to school, I don't exactly know - something about bettering myself and making my parents proud of me, I'm sure. I've been a contributor to Alternative Press Magazine for nearing a year, and have contributed to AMP Magazine in the past, as well. You can typically find my album reviews in AP on a bi-monthly basis, and on occasion I interview some sweet band for more information on what makes them tick. Most recently, I've been given the opportunity to write features for Wonka Vision Magazine, as well. When I started college, I was pursuing my Associate's Degree in Funeral Service - that's obviously changed quite a bit in the last few years. When I was young, I legitimately wanted to be a librarian. At this point, I'd like to write for the rest of my life, and before I get too old, befriend a band and go on tour, either tourmanaging, carrying equipment, or selling merch. In a band and want an overanalytical insomniac on your road crew? Get a hold of me. No, seriously.

The blood in my veins has been replaced by creativity, I'm convinced. I've been writing a novel since March and I attempt to create visual art by collage on a semi-regular basis. I've had many tattoos inked onto my skin, each representative of a stage or happening in my life at the time, whether or not I still love them as much as when I got them (yeah, like the casket I drew and got tattooed on me when I was 18 - baaad idea). Most of my artwork is done by Steve Jones and Adrian Valdez at Third Dimension Tattoos & Piercing in Green Bay, and my fairy sleeve and a few other pieces have been inked by Little Lisa at Titletown Ink, also in Green Bay. No, I don't have a pain complex. It just feels right.

I broke edge recently after somewhere around five or six years. I got a straightedge tattoo when I was 19, but people change, circumstances change. I don't regret it, I just don't feel the way that I used to anymore - that is allowed, you know. Feel however you'd like about it - just know I don't have trouble sleeping at night. I've tried being a vegetarian a few times - it's never really worked out for me because t-bone steaks prettymuch rule my life when they are offered to me. Don't talk to me in the morning before I've had some variety of caffeinated beverage, whether it's a french vanilla cappuccino or a Monster Energy Juice. I'm a slave to consumerism, what can I say?

I'm growing up. I'm a work in progress. I'm perpetually single and I don't know how my friends stand me sometimes, but life is what you make it, and I'm just trying to keep my days and my nights absolutely unforgettable.
